building

Avast! Looks like we’re building now!

Yar mates!

So, with the acquisition of lumber, screws, tools and brackets, it is at last time to begin building (or shipwrighting, depending upon one’s degree of skill & ability)!

So to that end, I’m pushing a short calendar of events and times that I personally plan to be in the El Tiburon Shipyard. You are ALL welcome to watch me toil! On most occasions, I probably will be there for a while, and it’s almost certainly going to be worth your while.

This is the schedule we’ve published (subject to change) on the pdxyar.el.tiburon@gmail.com calendar. Yes, the ship has it’s own email address and calendar. It is that cool. Also, we should share with you the URL to the production blog! This is a thing which you can have now: http://eltiburon.pdxyar.org/

While I am in the Shipyard, we will also have a webcam active and anyone can reach us via Google chat while there by looking for pdxyar.el.tiburon@gmail.com where we’ll be live chatting with anyone who wants to see what’s up in the Shipyard, and what we crazy monkeys are currently working on.

Please feel free to send me any questions or concerns you may have.

Project Update #5: Behold! The SWAGGERING

Posted by Jaime Kirk

Now, what, you may be asking yourself does swaggering have to do with anything, aside from being Jaime’s primary mode of locomotion? Well, courtesy of Herr Direktor of Funranium labs, a Swaggering is one of a couple of things.

Swaggering:

  • -pertaining to, characteristic of, or behaving in the manner of a person who swaggers.
  • a truly glorious opportunity to receive SWAG in the manner of a pirate!

Obviously definition #2 is more our concern.  It is in that vein that I have a glorious proposition for you all!  We would like to hold a Swaggering on the evening of Friday, June 10th, wherein you may arrive, tell us who you are, and receive your swag in person!  Also, you’ll get to tour the shipyards and see what work we’ve done on the ship in person, rather than through the shipyard video feed (more on that next update).  During this time period we will also be filling boxes with swag for the poor unfortunate souls who cannot make it to the Swaggering.

For those of you who can make it, the Shipyard is located inside The Watershed at:

5040 SE Milwaukie

Portland, OR97202

We would love to see anyone who can make it!  Of course, since this will be the point at which we’ll be packing things to ship out, if you’re not available, you’ll still get your swag soon thereafter!  However, you won’t get to see pirates.  AND WHO DOESN’T WANT TO SEE PIRATES?  Well, clearly everyone one this blog type post thing reaches DOES want to see pirates!

Got any questions?  Can you make it?  Let us know!  “How do I do that?” you are doubtless asking yourself.  Good question!  Please Email me!  Email me here: Dingo@pdxyar.org

We’ll be sure to have your bag of swag waiting for you!  As if all that wasn’t enough, you can even swing by and taste the amazing Black Blood of the Earth, some of which lives in the Shipyard to power the pirates long into the night.
